This self promotion project looked at how I can represent myself to the wider design community. It was very important when finding my first industry role. The main elements of this self promotion creative continue to be used in my self branding today.
The project’s concept is based on creative paper folding. Using modular shapes to create a unique cv/resume that can be shared with creative agencies and in-house marketing teams. The origins of the folding stemmed from my Falte SS font. I found an interest in this area during my first year of studying Graphic Communication many moons ago.
The packaging is made up of two inter-linking items, the business card which is the “wax seal” and the CV which is the “box”. My business card originally took the form of the CV when folded, over the time the shape changed due to my production budget; it also acts as the wax seal for the CV. The CV is made using a simple envelope fold that is easy to unfold and then re-fold. Inside the CV you would be presented with several work cards cut to the shape of the CV when folded. My leave behind is a sample of my Falte SS typeface that is stored inside a Japanese roll fold box.
This work was showcased inside the book, My Graphic DNA by Promopress. A copy of the original hardback book can be found on Amazon.
