Macromed [visit website] is a leading UK provider in medical supplies for professionals that treat chronic, acute and traumatic conditions. Brandtastic was approached to create a modern and up-to-date digital presence for Macromed. Their previous website used flash and other outdated technologies, so we designed them a clean, fully customised and responsive WordPress CMS website. We chose WordPress as our CMS because of it’s simplicity and flexibility.
For this project the Creative Director designed the splash page and homepage. I then took on the design work the internal pages based on the styling the Creative Director used.
The website and its content is designed to communicate with medical professionals and those that order supplies for medical practices. To make the products that Macromed provide front and centre, we presented them in a clean and clinical way, whilst using language that felt familiar to the professionals visiting the website.
The design works in an unusual way in that there are two homepages. These can be accessed via a splash page, allowing the user to navigate to either spinal or interventional. The user cannot cross navigate from spinal to interventional and vice versa. As this was primarily a catalogue website, we needed to create a predict listing. Items cannot be purchased, so WooCommerce was not implemented. They do have an interactive events calendar where user can register for any seminars the company would hold.
