Introducing the latest issue of TypoCircle is a fitting first post to my blog. I love typography and am a recent member of the Typographic Circle.
The TypoCircle Circular is designed by the prestigious Pentagram studio. The designers involved are Domenic Lippa and Jeremy Kunze. The latest issue, Circular 18, places typographic design at the forefront. The layout itself is almost exclusively typographic.
“The Typographic Circle prides itself on providing a platform for a number of voices. TypoCircle is known for its diverse monthly lectures by leading industry figures. It also presents the annual New York Type Directors Club. Speakers at Circle events have included Trevor Beattie, Stefan Sagmeister, Ken Garland, Jonathan Barnborook, among others. Lippa has had a long-standing relationship with the organisation, having served on the committee for many years and also as its Chair.” — Pentagram, 2014
The typography for the interviews are all set in Regular by A2-Type and Perpetua by Eric Gill. They only appear in two colours, orange and grey. At the rear of the publication you can find a section dedicated to the showcase of the interviewees work; such work includes Why Not Associates, Angus Hyland and Rian Hughes.
