The UCA Glue magazine was a collaboration with the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) Student Union. The Student Union wanted to start a magazine which would showcase work from students of the University.
The magazine acts as a communication platform between students, staff and industry creatives. This will be a direct mail piece for design agencies and other creative establishments. It will also bea free pick-up for students and staff across the UCA campuses.
The structure of the magazine needed to cater to all forms of creativity; a form of pagination was required to engage the reader with its content. The Glue logo uses a colour wheel as part of its brand, this reflects the many disciplines of creativity across the, at the time, five campuses. As a creative team we decided to implement this same brand idea as our tool of navigating the submitted work. This would act a quick reference key for the readers too.
Content for the magazine was supplied directly from the students. The written text was supplied by the head of the Student Union. Once UCA Glue issue one was designed, working files were handed to the SU to then work with. At this stage the creative team had no further involvement with any future issues.
